Sporting Events

Concert Systems have supplied PA equipment for a wide variety of sporting events, indoors and outdoors, from small music horn systems up to 250,000 watt distributed sound systems. From a bowling club to a football stadium, our systems are suitable for pre-match entertainment, announcements, commentary and safety messages.

From staging, lighting and sound systems down to a simple megaphone, we can supply high quality equipment designed to withstand the rigours of outdoor use: weatherproof speaker systems, and even marquees, covered stages, rugged microphones, open air lighting, power generators etc.

Crowd safety:

As well as providing systems powerful enough for music and pre-match entertainment, and clear enough for commentaries to be heard throughout the arena, it is also vital that you can rely on our sound systems for crowd safety.

We comply with all current regulations with regard to crowd safety, crowd control and voice-evacuation systems. Microphones will be available for emergency announcements, and a police override system ensures any other speech or music is automatically cut should they need to give out any important messages.

Wireless:

We are specialists in using radio systems to distribute sound in an arena. In many cases it is not practical or safe to run large amounts of temporary cabling in a stadium. Using specialised wireless antenna, we can transmit a high-quality signal over long distances to powered speakers. This also gives a much quicker set-up time, resulting in lower costs for the customer.

Typical events:

Athletics

Particular requirements include weatherproof long-throw speakers (up to 100 metre range), with time-delay, to distribute a clear sound evenly around a large area. Radio microphones and music playback included.

Cricket

Extra need for wedge speakers around the ground facing the spectators, for announcements and music playback.

Football

Large sound systems of 40-50,000 watts or more, as supplied to Sky TV and Premier League clubs. Voice override for public safety announcements.

Golf

As well as an outdoor sound system, we can supply Motorola walkie-talkie radio systems for the officials to communicate around the course. Lighting can be supplied for evening tournaments.

Hockey

Typically we supply rugged 100 volt line music horn systems at hockey matches, with radio mics and CD playback.

Regattas

Time-delayed speaker systems cater for the long distances involved, providing clarity without the echoed effect common in lesser systems.

Rugby

Large sound systems for international matches, or smaller systems for club grounds. Radio microphones and music playback included.

School Sports Days:

Rugby World Cup:

At short notice we supplied a 150,000 watt PA system to the Millenium Stadium, Cardiff, as the in-house system could not be completed in time. We used very high quality equipment including EAW KF750 speakers, Crown amplification, radio microphones and music playback. The system incoporated voice override for emergency crowd evacuation.

England Hockey:

We regularly provide equipment to England Hockey at Belle Vue. The regular system includes 8 x DNH 500 watt Music Horns on stands, a wireless microphone system and a CD player. This is used for pre-match entertainment, announcements, national anthems, etc.

Concert Systems was involved from the outset of Sky TV live football coverage. We supplied large sound systems for pre-match entertainment with feeds to the broadcast equipment.
