Why hire?
There are many scenarios where it makes sense to hire top quality equipment, for example:
Overseas bands and artistes - it can be uneconomical to transport equipment, especially for short tours. It may be your own gear works at a different voltage, or will not meet UK safety requirements. You may have to get every item PAT tested to comply with regulations at the venue. Hiring fully compliant backline is a much simpler option.
Videos, photoshoots - you look great but your old equipment might not! Make sure you are creating the right image with the latest products, or with vintage classics. Get the right props for a period feel, and be confident that everything works reliably.
Showcase gigs - for the up-and-coming band that can't yet afford all the gear they would like, it makes sense to hire good backline for those important gigs. Don't be let down by your old practice amp when it really matters!
Sound processors - reverbs, delays, compressors, gates etc. If you have used a particular effect or setting in the studio, you need the same piece of equipment to properly reproduce it live. For consistent live performance take away the worry of trying to replicate sounds from inferior fx units.
Just to try it out! - the best way to test new equipment is to take it on stage. Hiring gives you an opportunity to test one or more amplifiers or instruments before buying. This is even more useful when it comes to trying vintage gear; you might like to use a classic amplifier just for a night, or with a view to buying one in the future. We have hired out all the favourites: Marshall, Fender, Ampeg, Vox AC30, etc. plus instruments from Ludwig, Premier, Fender, Gibson, Moog, Roland and more.
